Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common debilitating disorder with symptoms including recurrent abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, constipation and diarrhoea. IBS is diagnosed from the collection of otherwise unexplained symptoms relating to a disturbance of the large bowel and affects around a third of the population at some time in their lives.

We have trialed various medications in a double-blind scenario. One such trial assessed the impact of blocking the effect of tachykinins on the IBS symptoms.

Subjects were carefully monitored medically and with the use of subject questionnaires to gather information on product efficacy in an intensive manner.
